Souditsa is a miniature of the Isthmus of Corinth, through which passes the public road of Vassaras-Verroia. Rock-blasting and opening of this road took place in 1899 by a specialized crew of technicians from Kastri of Kynouria with the contractor K. Farmasone as the supervisor. The construction of the new Verroian road that went through this spot was the first work of public transportation in the towns of Vassaras and Verroia. The principal worker of the idea was G. Sgouritsas, and investors were the immigrant compatriots and the mayor of Oinous Athanasios Matalas and the builders were those who toiled by putting forth the personal physical effort, namely the Vassarians and Verroians.
